Someone once said to me that it’s a good thing no one can see our thoughts….this got me thinking – but thoughts are things not just some will o’ the wisp or like air in which you don’t see but you know when you don’t have it.
Thoughts are like seeds…although they are invisible to the eye now, if you cultivate them, they will sprout and shoot out like little seedlings and grow into tall healthy plants to show the world what you have been sowing and nurturing – weeds or food, thorny plants or fruits. It is good to have a balance for a fruit plant may bear poisonous fruit. It behooves us to monitor our thoughts because we are not only what we eat physically, we are what we think emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Release negative thoughts, cherish and cultivate positive thoughts. The same flimsy thoughts take roots in our minds and then control our actions. These actions in turn define our personalities and personalities eventually shape our character. Although change can be brought about at any stage, it gets to be more and more difficult. It is so, so much easier to dig out and destroy a poisonous seed than it is to uproot and chop down a tree that has spread its roots deep and wide. Seeds look small and helpless and harmless but do not underestimate their potential. After all the mighty oak was once but an acorn.
